Making Internet History …

October 13, 2009 Iain Leave a comment

There is an interesting website located at http://www.archive.org which contains a utility called the “Way Back When” machine. It allows you to view a cache of websites as they have evolved over the years. I looked back at one of my personal homepages from many moons ago and found a journal entry that makes reference to the first MSN conversation I had with Helen in 2003:

Quite an uneventful week although I did catch up with an old friend online which was rather nice. :)

And to think we are now getting married!

I’m getting married in the morning … well 2010 actually

I’m pleased to announce (belatedly) that on the 16th October 2008, Helen accepted a half-assed proposal of marriage (yes from me) outside the British Telecom telephone exchange in Newport Pagnell! I was convinced it was a temporary bout of insanity that caused her to agree but then I realised it was thought of dinner at Praego but either way, she’s made me the happiest person in town. W00t!

Concerning Fruit

I finished re-insulating the loft yesterday which involved stripping out all of the old fibre glass stuff. I won’t go into details regarding what I found underneath but lets just say I shall never look at a banana in the same way!

I didn’t think these results were too bad for a Wireless connection (802.11n)!

Windows XP SP3 – weirdness

August 23, 2008 Iain Leave a comment

Since installing XP SP3, I’ve noticed that certain applications seem to “stall”. Examples include Sid Meier’s Pirates, MSN Messenger 8 and Internet Explorer. The symptoms are that the application will become non-responsive and when attempting to close, it won’t actually terminate even through Task Manager. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the issue?
